Proper
usage of email
Student e-mail addresses
for course access must include student names (It is difficult
for teachers to interpret e-mail fun names). Most Internet
e-mail allows people to change e-mail addresses. Students
should change their e-mail so it reads: "firstinitiallastname@internet
address" (such as: dsmith@telnet.com ). To do this, students
simply choose a different e-mail address. If your name is
taken, then please use one of these options: (d_smith or
dsmith234 or dsmith123456).

SPECIAL
CONSIDERATIONS
Plug-ins
Some courses may have supplemental materials such as audio,
video or other multimedia that require plug-ins in order
to view. The plug-ins can be downloaded for free and installed
on your computer. Course materials that need these will
clearly state so in the on-line documentation. It may be
helpful to set up some of the most common ones as many web
sites also have content that need these plug-ins.
Some of the most
common plug-ins used on the Web are listed below.
To view PowerPoint
presentations if you don’t have PowerPoint on your
computer or to view MS Word documents if you don’t
have MS Word on your PC. If you already have Microsoft
Office software especially PowerPoint and Word on your
computer, you will not need the viewer. Search the downloads
at Microsoft for this file.
