Transition assistance is offered to prospective students. Services are provided on a case by case basis and include:

  • Transition Assistance
  • Specialized disability related advisement and counseling
  • Accessibility to facilities
  • Assistance with course selection, registration, and scheduling classes
  • Advocacy
  • Case Management services
  • Test taking Accommodations
  • Tutoring
  • Note-taking/scribes
  • Access Technology Center
  • Auxiliary aids, services and small equipment loans
  • Interpreter services for hearing impaired
  • Enlarged print or recorded texts

Liaison with instructors/staff

High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) or General Education Development (GED) Certificate

  • Pretest student for appropriateness Confer with IEP team Conduct a contract meeting Write contract Monitor attendance and progress

Determination of services, benefits and aids involves an interactive process that places responsibility on you and Fox Valley Technical College.   Your input as to the type and effectiveness of specific accommodations is encouraged.   You must request accommodations to receive them.

Follow these steps:

  • Contact the Special Needs Center and request accommodations Provide appropriate disability related documentation that supports the request for accommodations
  • Develop an Accommodation Plan with a Special Needs Instructor
