SUPPORT: The Wisconsin Statewide Parent-Educator Initiative will support parents and educators in building positive partnerships on behalf of children and youth with disabilities.
RESOURCES: The Wisconsin Statewide Parent-Educator Initiative will assist in accessing agency contacts and information regarding special education, parenting, and disabilities.
NETWORKING: The Wisconsin Statewide Parent-Educator Initiative will support the collaboration of parents, educators and community agencies in maximizing resources to increase family involvement.
EDUCATION: The Wisconsin Statewide Parent-Educator Initiative will assist parents and school districts to connect with training opportunities that meet their needs. |

Assist parents in becoming more knowledgeable in the IEP process including access to contemporary publications and resource materials |
|
|
Mentor parents one-on-one in preparing for their child's IEP |
|
|
Provide in-services to district staff |
|
|
Consult with district staff to provide a parent's point of view for special education plans, IEP questions, school policies, and district presentations |
|
|
Support your District's establishment of parent support or advisory groups |
|
|
Provide/find speakers to address specific concerns or questions for parents and staff meetings |
|
|
Assist with access to other County and State agencies and/or resources |
|
|
Provide information on upcoming conferences and workshops |
