Recognizing that a large pile of candy is more than a small pile of candy is obvious even to very young children. However, a deeper understanding of the concepts of more and less develops gradually and deserves significant attention in early childhood mathematics instruction. When children are learning the relationships of more and less, the language we commonly use can sometimes get in the way. We will employ a sequence of questions designed to help your young learners manage comparing quantities with understanding.
